The pursuit of cruelty-free: a simple LUSH review

‘Lush Ltd. is a cosmetics retailer headquartered in Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom. The company was founded by Mark Constantine, a trichologist and Liz Weir, a beauty therapist. They met in a hair and beauty salon in Poole, England. A few years later, they decided to branch out and start their own business selling natural hair and beauty products.’ – Wikipedia.

ULTRA BALM (Top left-hand in image)

45g – £9.95 – 4/5

Minus 1 point for ineffectiveness on eczema and psoriasis, this is not the products selling point, but I would not recommend for those.

WHOOSH SHOWER JELLY

Minus 1 point due to the durability of the jelly deteriorating quickly, making it difficult to use. (TOP TIP: put into the fridge or freezer for easier use when bathing.)

BOHEMIAN SOAP (Top in image)

100g – £3.25 – 2/5

Minus 3 points due to scent, sensitivity on delicate skin, and its ability to last use after use.

55g – £5.95 – 5/5

SOAK AND FLOAT SHAMPOO BAR (Bottom middle in image)

55g – £5.95 – 5/5

BIG SOLID CONDITIONER (Bottom right-hand in image)

50g – £5.95 – 1/5

Minus 4 points due to ease of use, scent, aesthetic appeal, and overall results. (TOP TIP: Leave the bar floating in the bath/on the shower floor to soften a bit before use. However the cocoa butter will begin to melt at higher temperatures, so do not leave it in warm conditions for too long or you’ll risk it disappearing!)
